11 Weeks Old

Hayley Jayne is growing and getting more of a personality everyday. She is such a fun baby and we are loving all of her awake time and how much she can interact with us. I fall more in love with her everyday, which I didn't think was possible. She has changed our lives in such an incredible way and we can't help but thank God everyday for bringing her into our lives.

Here are a few pictures of the past 4 weeks.

A few highlights:
* First time celebrating her Daddy's birthday. She was able to go to his office for the first time.
* She is sleeping longer every night with a good 6 hour stretch and then another 4+ hours
* She has stopped crying and started smiling
* She smiles at us all time
* Wakes up happy and gets the biggest grin when I walk in the room to pick her up out of her bed
* She eats 6 times a day with about 4 oz per feeding. She is doing great on her schedule and it has been really great for me too!
* She fits in her 0-3 month clothes. I think it is officially time to put the newborn clothes away.
* Our first attempt at Kiddie Candids was a disaster. She cried the entire time.
* She went to her first dinner party and was such a joy. She sat in her bouncy seat and played most of the time.
* She went to her first restaurant with us. We went to Islands and she did great.
* She had her first shot!

8 weeks old

On Saturday, Hayley will be 8 weeks old. I don't know where the time has gone! She now weighs 9lbs 14 ounces. We are back on track with her weight. She is in the 50th percentile for height and weight. We think she is just perfect. Our friends, The Vataha's, welcomed sweet baby Laila over the weekend. She is just precious and it also made me realize how much Hayley has grown over the past 8 weeks. I will post some more pictures this weekend.

Shane and I are so grateful for all of your support over the past 10 months. Recently, we have been blown away with all of your dinners, gifts, flowers, cards and prayers. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! We have the greatest support system and I don't know what we would have done without you! It has meant so much to us, you will never know! We love you all!

We are in LOVE!

Hayley Jayne Shafer was born on June 26, 2010 at 9:25pm. She is absolutely perfect and we are so happy she is here.

After a long 24 hours of labor we were headed towards a c section. You can see on our faces that we were thrilled that we would get to meet our little girl in a matter of minutes.

At 9:25 pm she was born into the world. She was absolutely beautiful weighing 8 pounds and 1 ounce.

She was the most beautiful baby we have ever laid eyes on. As you can see, we fell in love immediately with our little angel.

We are so lucky to have such supportive and loving friends and family. Here are a few of her visitors in the hospital.

I couldn't wait to get a few pictures of her. I know that all of our friends and family wanted a good look at our little girl. Thanks to Siarra and Raeanne for the adorable bear. We had fun with her first of many photo shoots.

After 4 days, Hayley and I were given the OK to go home. We couldn't wait to leave the hospital as a family of 3. This was her first time outside, in her carseat and in her home.

My parents have been so supportive and helpful over the past few weeks. Thank you Mom and Dad for all of the meals, gifts, and everything that you have done to help us over the past few weeks. We love you!

The 4th of July was Hayley's first holiday. My mom bought her such an adorable "First 4th of July" outfit for the occasion. THANKS MOM!

This week Hayley Jayne also had her first bath at home. She did great and didn't cry a bit. I was so proud of her and relieved it was not a tramatic experience for me! :)

Her room is finished!!!

I was so happy on Monday when we received the call that our glider was at the store. It arrived in 7 days and we couldn't be happier with it. Shane did a wonderful job putting it together.

Her room is finally finished. Thanks again to everyone that helped make my vision come true. I love how it turned out. Hopefully she likes pink :) But as my dad always says, "the apple doesn't fall far from the tree", so I am more confident than ever that she will love it.

Big Day in the Shafer Household!

Today was another big day for us. We not only choose our pediatrician but we finished our last baby class at Hoag, had our hospital tour and had our last ultrasound before we meet Hayley.

We found out that she is 6 1/2 pounds right now and could come anytime. We were relieved to see that she is healthy and everything growing right on track. If she goes the full 40 weeks then she is estimated to weigh 8 1/2 lbs. Needless to say, I am hoping for an early delivery. You may find me out walking Newport Beach to make this happen :)

Shane and I are getting more excited everyday to meet her. We also found out today that she has a FULL HEAD OF HAIR. I had always imagined my baby bald so now I am trying to picture what color hair she will be born with. Black, brown, red, orange, blonde ... who knows. With our families, anything is possible. This may keep me up tonight!

It was so much fun to be with friends old and new and celebrate my little girl. Thanks to each of you for making me feel so loved. The day was perfect because each of you were a part of it. BABY SHOWER at the SCHUMACHERS'

I feel like the luckiest girl in the world. My friends Kimi and Candice organized such a wonderful shower for me. It was such a beautiful day and they thought of everything down to the smallest detail. I loved spending time with friends! Ayra brought such amazing flowers that made me smile and my mom's cake was to die for. I am so thankful for each of you!

Below are a few picture from the day. Thanks again ladies.
